God is so gracious to us. He not only commands us to worship him – the most fulfilling activity humans can engage in – but he also gives us tools to help us do it.
One of these tools is music. For all time music has been used to turn his people’s hearts to him. As this is a priority of God’s we want it to be a priority of ours. We want music that is
– God honouring:
That means that the music we do will be truthful. We want lyrics that come straight from God’s revelation to us in his word.
We also want music that isn’t ‘self-honouring’. We want people to look at Jesus, not our musos or prayers. That will affect what songs we choose, how we arrange them and what we say about our songs.

thanks for posting this series.

what’s the relationship between God-honouring music, not being self-honouring, and having flashing lights on musicians?

(you know i dig flashing lights!!! so my question is… ought I???)
